Northwood Community a resident-owned manufactured home community in Ronan, Mont. We are a terrific rural, family-friendly neighborhood in the Flathead Indian Reservation just an hour south of Kalispell, and an hour north of Missoula. We are situated on Highway 93, moments from Flathead Lake. The amazing natural landscape of Montana is at your fingertips when you live in our community. Outdoor enthusiasts have endless possibilities available to enjoy the beautiful Mission Mountains, and Glacier National Park is less than a two-hour drive.
We have our own community garden thanks to the help of local tribal college students. The city of Polson, known for its many cherry orchards and beautiful views of the lake, is 15 minutes away. In the summertime, a vibrant farmers market offers local fruits and vegetables and handmade crafts.
Northwood Community is owned by the Community Members who live here – we are a resident-owned community (ROC).

We own it
The Member homeowners of Northwood Community control the rent and make the rules. On Nov. 5, 2014, the ROC purchased the land and infrastructure, such as the roads and water lines. Now, a democratically elected Board of Directors manages the business of running Northwood Community. Every Member household in the community has a say in who sits on the Board, how we spend our money, the annual budget, and whether we make changes to the rent.
We’re also part of a national network of more than 250 ROCs just like us. That membership provides us with access to expert coaching on how to run our ROC, leadership development and training, communication with dozens of community leaders who face many of the same issues we do, and more. Life in Northwood Community is truly different than in a commercially owned community – we invite you to find out firsthand how that difference makes living here so much better.
